Predatory Open Access Journals

Lecture by Susanne Flach

It is often difficult for early career researchers to choose appropriate journals for their research, especially as the number of possible outlets is increasing. To add to the challenge, predatory journals and predatory practices are on the rise, which poses a serious problem for the integrity of science and public funds. In this talk, we will take a closer look at predatory journals, what they are, why they are problematic for our careers and science in general, and what you can do to avoid falling prey to predatory practices.
